YOUR QUESTIONS
Will I be employed or self-employed?
We can offer both opportunities and it will depend on the provider. For longer-term placements, many providers now prefer to employ their staff to comply with HMRC regulations. Shorter-term respite placements may typically be on a self-employed basis. You must be able to demonstrate that you have the right to work in the UK and are registered for self-assessment with a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR).

Do you pay me or the care provider?
Kindwell acts as an introductory agency, not an employment agency, so you will be paid directly by the care provider. The exact terms of payment (weekly, fortnightly etc) will be detailed in the placement offer.

Do I need to pay for my DBS?
You will only need to pay for a new DBS certificate if you are not already registered on the DBS update system.

What happens when I do not get along with the client of if there are any concerns with their care package?
You will work alongside the provider and address all concerns with them directly and they will provide the support.

What happens when I do not get along with the care provider?
If there are any occasions where you and the care provider are not working in partnership and the issues cannot be resolved, then you would contact us and request to be replaced.

What happens if a care provider wants me to support a different client than the one that was originally agreed?
You should inform us in this situation so we can provide the necessary support.

Will I have travel and food expenses reimbursed?
Yes and these details will all be made clear prior to the introduction with the care provider. Where are the care providers located? We work in partnership with care providers throughout England and Wales and the provider and location will be specified when we send the placement opportunity to you.
